Peak season is here!
The period between May 15th and August 31st is considered the peak season. Approximately 65% of moves occur during this period. That is a pretty powerful metric and shows the compressed scheduling that takes place during this small window.
It is in your best interest to plan ahead and book your move as soon as possible. Perform your research and obtain pricing from different licensed movers and get on their schedule. This period is so busy that even moving companies with less than stellar reputations manage to keep pretty full schedules. If sub par companies are able to stay busy then that means that those with the best reputations and reviews are in super demand which leads back to the point of this post.
BOOK YOUR MOVE EARLY!
Every week we receive multiple requests for last minute moves and most of the time we are unable to accommodate them due to our full schedule. When you decide to try to hire movers with short notice your pool of available movers is greatly reduced and you may end up having to settle for a company that you normally would not use.
It is best to book your move at least a month out. This will give you plenty of time to hash out the details with your mover and if possible also try to make sure that you schedule the first move of the day. Us movers have to juggle numerous jobs each day and this requires that we give customers arrival windows. As you can imagine sometimes things happen or dont go as planned which throws the schedule off.
After you book your move make it a point to check in with your mover every few weeks or so and especially the day before.
Do your research and book your move early!
